The girls are sleeping right now. Its 5am and i finally decided to pull out my laptop and squeeze out a post. Last nights show was awesome! (okay……when aren’t they?) The place was SMALL (Mississippi studios), and held only 75 people….. it felt more like 35. Completely took me back to the days when i’d see brandi at the bars. The music that band makes made my jaw drop back then, and it still does now.
I was in the 2nd row, and really too close to get many shots. I couldnt see the other members of the band without heads getting in the way. It was my first time hearing “have you ever” live………fun song. Has such a happy sound to it.
Once again there was two shows, but we only had tickets to the first. So i was hanging out talking to everyone outside and helping holly with merch, when i had to pee. The bathroom is inside the place. When i got out, no one was watching the door…… so i snuck in and got a free show 🙂 I hung in the back with my beer…….. and got so emotional watching her. I even had tears a few times.. Her soul is beautiful. I’m constantly trying to capture it with a lens, and its impossible. That show was a good reminder that i should stop letting the camera distract me, and pay attention more. But i cant help it! I’m a archivist. (hmm…..this blog doesn’t have a spell checker).
anyway….a BIG shout out to bert/holly….. Not only for letting me join them on the tour. But because I had left my camera battery and charger in seattle, and they took me around to help me find another one (stupid/expensive mistake). I’m deeply indebted, and cant buy enough beers to thank them.
so on to san francisco!! 10 hr drive today baby 🙂
